Dental Implants

A Compassionate Solution Tailored to Your Dental Health Needs

At Melbourne Smile Boutique, we understand that the journey to restoring your smile is deeply personal and varies with each stage of life. Dental implants offer a robust, dependable solution for replacing one or multiple missing teeth, designed to blend seamlessly with your natural smile. These titanium fixtures act as a new root for a porcelain crown, providing the appearance and function of a natural tooth. The process is generally straightforward, with most patients experiencing swift healing.

Our extensive experience has shown us the unique challenges and concerns that come with traditional bridges and dentures, such as discomfort, movement during speech or eating, and the potential for sore spots. Dental implants eliminate these issues by fusing directly to your jawbone, offering a stable and comfortable foundation for crowns and bridges without affecting adjacent healthy teeth.

We recognise that not everyone’s dental condition or bone structure is immediately suited for implants. Being a suitable candidate involves having healthy gums and sufficient bone density to support the implant, alongside a commitment to excellent oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups. Our dedicated team is here to guide you through the assessment process with empathy and expertise, ensuring that your dental care plan respects your unique needs and lifestyle.

Implants

How do dental implants work?

A small fixture is placed where the root of the missing tooth would normally sit and given a period of time to allow the area to heal.

Once the fixture integrates into the jaw, an impression is taken of the area to allow the laboratory to make the crown. Once ready, the Dental Implant is either screwed into or glued onto the fixture.

Advantages of Dental Implants

Very strong and stable

Doesn’t rely on adjacent teeth to support a new tooth. This is especially important in cases where the adjacent teeth may not be suitable to support another tooth or have not been previously restored.

Single or multiple implants can be used to replace as many teeth as needed.

Can be used to make a denture more stable or support a fixed bridge to replace all the missing teeth in either jaw.
